In addition to all our dogs available for adoption we have a Silver Hearts Program.  It is designed for those who can provide the special care for boxers which are older and or in need of hospice care. To adopt a dog through the Silver Heart’s program you must complete either the foster or adoption application process. The adoption fee is waved for the adoption of a dog in the Silver Heart’s program. Check out the details here 

Special Feature - Wyatt McDaniel - Name A Boxer Program

Wyatt found his forever home! He was adopted by Teri Lybecker and is living happily with a Boxer brother and sister where he is very loved.  Wyatt was named by the Baird Family through our Name A Boxer Program in memory of Wyatt McDaniel, a very special young boy who left our world too soon.  

We were honored to be part of the tribute and wish solace to those who miss Wyatt McDaniel.

Dear Volunteers, Fosters, Adopters and Supporters,

It always amazes me every year when the numbers come and I can see how many dogs we have saved. This is a direct result of our awesome volunteers, fosters, adopters and supporters that continue to help us grow and save more dogs. This year we have been lucky to work with some amazing rescues and shelters. Thanks to volunteers and employees at these different shelters and rescues that have helped transport dogs to us; Thank You for your efforts and  helping make a huge impact on ABR being able to save so many precious lives.  Plus, we have some amazing facebook supporters that have pulled together to transport the other dogs that we needed out. We also have the most amazing group of fosters and they continue to inspire me and teach me something everyday.  Then there are adopters that keep coming back to adopt again and again instead of buying from a breeder. I would also like to take a minute to thank our financial supporters. These people donate to specific dogs in need, virtual foster, donate goods, supplies, make monthly donations, etc. We could not do this without you. Finally, I would like to  say a special thank you to ABR's core volunteers who give their time and energy into help make this organization run on a day to day basis. You guys are the backbone of the group and we could not function without each and every one of you!

I hope you are all as proud to be a part of this organization as I am.  Thank you all for your time, energy, donations and continued support!

Austin Boxer Rescue is a non-profit organization that branched off from Lone Star Boxer Rescue of Houston. ABR is made up entirely of volunteers who are dedicated to removing dogs from bad situations and placing them into loving permanent homes. We receive dogs from shelters, owners, and dogs found as strays and our volunteers take them into their homes. We do not have a shelter or a facility.  Our rescued dogs are rehabilitated medically, socialized and are taught basic manners.  We service Austin, San Antonio, Temple, and the surrounding areas.
