AUSTIN BOXER RESCUE- WHAT'S NEW

Dear ABR Supporters,

Along with the rest of the country, Austin Boxer Rescue is feeling the impact of our current economic crisis.  We are currently faced with the unfortunate dilemma of an increased number of dogs needing to be rescued but with a decrease in financial donations.  The sad truth is that without the money to pay boarding and medical costs, we are limited in the number of dogs that we can take in.   We desperately need help in these troubled times in order to continue to rescue these helpless animals.   There are a number of ways that you can help ABR continue its work: you can make a  monetary donation today (see link to the right) -- consider doing this as a tribute to an animal lover in your life in place of the traditional Christmas gift.   If you're not in a position to make a donation there are other ways to help: volunteer to work at one of the ABR Holiday fundrasiers, offer to host a garage sale to benefit ABR (we'll help you get items to sell), and, as ALWAYS, we need foster families for our dogs awating their forever homes.  Thank you in advance for taking this request to heart.   In the meantime, please read the story of one of our wonderful featured dogs currently in need of a forever home.   Arthur's story is the epitome of what Austin Boxer Rescue can do when we have the resources to do it.

Gratefully,
 Austin Boxer Rescue Volunteer

We NEED your time to staff Gift Wrapping and Pictures with Santa shifts in December.
Holiday fundraisers are an integral part of ABR’s financial health.
We have several options in various locations throughout the Central Texas Area.

Arthur
Arthur: Then and Now Arthur is a perfect example of why we at ABR are so dedicated to rescuing dogs and giving them a new life. Arthur led a horrific existance before he was taken in by ABR. He and his sister (who has since been adopted through ABR by a wonderful family) were so neglected that they were seized by animal control in a town east of Austin. Arthur had been hit by a car and did not receive adequate medical treatment on his injured leg so had a very difficult time walking. He was approximately 20 pounds underweight,...Read More

I really love to take walks sometimes I get to run. I am really learning to love and trust humans. I went to the eye doctor on Monday and found out that I am blind in my hurt eye but the doctor gave me drops that will help the inflamation/pain. The drops really seem to help me. I don't have any problems getting a...Read More
