Holiday Fundraisers

How YOU Can Help!

Holiday fundraisers are an integral part of ABR’s financial health and we need help staffing shifts in December.  We have several options in various locations throughout the Central Texas Area: Pictures with Santa at various Petsmart locations, Gift Wrapping at Barnes & Noble, and Gift Wrapping at Grapevine Market in Round Rock.

More information will follow for those who sign up, but following are short descriptions of what is involved in being a volunteer at these functions:

Petsmart Pictures With Santa:  We need one male to play Santa and two other volunteers to play elf per shift. A fourth volunteer is helpful in case the shift is really busy.  Volunteers need to be at Petsmart by about 10:15 a.m. to allow for set-up, training, and Santa to get dressed.  Petsmart supplies the Santa Suit and all equipment for the pictures.  “Santa” poses for pictures with the pets of customers, who pay $10 per picture ($5.00 from each picture goes to ABR).   The other two volunteers take the pictures, put them in the frame, etc.   Shifts end at 4:00 p.m.   

Giftwrapping at Barnes & Noble and Grapevine Market:  We need two or three volunteers per shift; if there are three volunteers then all three people may not need to work the entire shift.   Barnes & Noble and Grapevine Market set up a table with chairs and provide the giftwrapping materials.   People who want their purchases giftwrapped are asked to make a donation to ABR.  One person on each shift will need to bring a donation box (can be provided if you need one) and ABR signage, and then be responsible for giving the donated money to a designated ABR volunteer after the shift.

Our next ADOPTION DAY will be Saturday, January 17th at Brown Elementary: 505 W. Anderson Lane from 10am-12:30pm. We can be found on the Southwest corner of the park, at the intersection of Guadalupe St and Northway Dr. - rain or shine. Map.
