Poor Amore came to ABR after being exploited by a breeder who forced her to have multiple litters of puppies and gave her virtually no care or affection. Initially she was scared of people and easily startled but, as if the case with so many dogs, she has responded beautifully to a safe environment, care, consistency, and affection. She is clearly grateful for her new life and is a perfect angel in the house. She is affectionate with humans and has a special love for children.

Amore currently lives with several other dogs and does fine with them but would be perfectly content as an only dog where she could be the main object of her humans' affection! She has a playful side but also enjoys being a couch potato for hours on end. She has been successfully treated for heartworms and has a clean bill of health. Amore will make a wonderful addition to a home where she can relax and be treated like the queen that she is!

As part of our Silver Hearts Program there will be no adoption fee for this dog. We are looking to place older dogs in loving homes so they can enjoy the remaining years of their lives. We prefer to put older dogs directly into foster homes as this will make them more comfortable and avoid kennels. Older dogs can truly be a blessing so please take the time to consider being part of the Silver heart program.
