Adoption
Having said all this, Dior is now doing much better physically, and her sweet and affectionate personality is shining through. Despite her disability, she is much the same as other Boxers. She gets along well with the other dog in her foster home, and she is great with kids both large and small. Because she can't see, she pays no attention to cats. She is also house trained and has learned to use a doggie door. She also has fantastic leash manners and loves to run along her foster parents especially in open areas. They use a bell or jingle their keys, so she can follow their sound. Dior is also a major cuddle bug, and will sit next to you forever if you pet and love on her. She likes to give hugs and kisses, and is very social, enjoying to be near people. If she isn't with her people, then she can be found snuggled up on the couch in her blanket. She also likes chew toys to keep her entertained (to Dior, shoes qualify as chew toys!). Dior will need to go to a home that is able to accomodate her handicap. We recommend she go to a home where she won't be alone for long stretches of time. Other than that, Dior, just like all our other dogs, just needs lots of love and attention. Dior is scheduled to have another round of blood work at the end of January. If all is well with that, then she will be spayed. She will also begin treatment for heartworms. Then she will be ready to find her forever home. Stay tuned; we will be posting updates on her progress. Heartworm Status= Negative
