FEATURED DOGS

Sargent
Sargent is a sad 3 year old fawn male boxer. He was surrendered to the shelter in Austin because he “does not get along with other dogs” and “tears stuff up.” Additionally, the previous owner stated that the dog did not have any medical problems although he has generalized hair loss. Sargent will need time before he can be tested with other dogs or cats due to his skin condition. At this point in time we are unsure what is the cause of the hair loss because our vets ruled out the possibility of mange. His hair loss has continued...Read More
Bo
Being a volunteer for a rescue organization can be heart-wrenching at times. The story of Bo is one of the most tragic we have seen. Bo is a 1-year-old flashy fawn male boxer. He was taken to a shelter in Waco by his owner, who had recently become homeless. Before the woman was able to bring Bo to the shelter, she had no choice but to leave him with her husband for a week. The woman was being abused by her husband, so she had fled her home to save her own life. Unfortunately, she was forced to temporarily leave...Read More
Coco
Coco is a tiny fawn female boxer and is less than a year old. Poor little Coco appears to have been hit by a car, which led to a broken back leg. She was then taken to the shelter to be euthanized, but luckily we were contacted as an option to help this little girl. Once in rescue, we took her to the vet and found that she has a broken femur. She's currently awaiting surgery to repair the break. She is a super trooper and does not seem to notice that her leg is broken. The only way you...Read More
Lord
Lord is a 1 ½ yr old male brindle boxer-mix. He was boarded at a vet clinic for about 7 months and became a little frustrated with that situation and so would like to find himself a permanent home. So far he has been very insecure around other dogs. His foster family is working with him to help regain his confidence so he can be placed in a home with other dogs. He has met a few older children and LOVES them.  Because of his affectionate nature, children seem to tickle his boxer side, causing him to wiggle and wag...Read More
Elsie
Elsie is a 2-3 year old female white and brown boxer. She was surrendered to a shelter in Lockhart by her former owner. When taken to the shelter had no hair on her body at all! She was quickly diagnosed with demodectic mange and the shelter began treatment on her. She was in the shelter for a few weeks and they were able to see real progress with the return of her hair. Since she’s been in rescue we have continued her treatments and she seems to be recovering as expected. Her attitude seems to be doing better as well...Read More
